The light of graciousness

When I visited my daughter Darla in London for the holidays, we were invited to Bhajjis family home for dinner. When we arrived we were greeted with a fully “american Christmas” experience along side what I can only assume were traditional Indian celibrations. I could see the great effort and care that he and his family had gone to in order to make Darla and me feel very much at home and comfortable.
Turkey was prepared with all the fixings,  I was offered a full and straight up glass of Jack Daniels whisky- as “an American drink to feel at home” and was warmly and sincerely welcomed into their home. I felt totally comfortable and honored to be there with such a gracious man and his family.
I have often relayed this story to friend and family of the caring displayed that day. It was an example of true grace that I hold dear in my heart.

A wonderful memory of a Bhajji. My heart hurts for his family and friends who will surely miss him.
